Black Girls Code

Black Girls Code

February is Black history month, a time for educating ourselves on rich history that deserves to be recognized and commended, remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora and a time to give extra support and love to the community. This is why our Cloud9 initiative has chosen to support Black Girls Code for the month, Black Girls Code build pathways for young women of color to embrace the current tech marketplace as builders and creators by introducing them to skills in computer programming and technology.

Black Girls code was founded by Kimberly Bryant in 2011 to improve the pipeline of Black girls in tech, like her daughter Kai, who was then a middle school student. Together, Black Girls Code is creating stronger economies and more equitable societies through diversity and inclusion, and with over 50,000 hours of teaching our youth, they are a perfect fit for our Cloud9 Initiative making a better world for our communities today and for the future.
